Al-Sahir - an Og mage, Entry 2
This journal will cover levels 13 to 20. From 13 to 17 I stayed in the granite caves. Lots of fun there and I fellowshipped with some very nice people. Two of which being Arry Windrunner and Sunra Al-Kira. Great players and we all got some great experience there. I got brave toward the end and started taking sandstones out who were spawning around my little Og hidey hole. I really didn’t have all to many deaths. A few things I found were the number of melees who started coming in. Most being VERY annoying and just hunting for motes. They hung out around the granites and tried to steal the kills from my group. I don’t know what they were trying to achieve but they never really found any motes. I also stumbled upon what I think might be a Og Macroer. He really didn’t know how to play his class and took him FOREVER to drain a granite golem. Even I didn’t take that long to drain a granite at level 15.
At level 17 I got a bit courageous. I was half way into the level when I decided
to see the light of day again. *GASP GASP* I know. I went back to mayoi and hit
the Arch-mage. From there I got some components and took a hub portal. This is
my first time taking the Hub with my own buffs! Guess what? I made it! It was a
great moment. I also learned portal tie and tied myself to the hub… for a bit.
From there I went to Q’aldabar or however you spell it (You will notice I
spell it differently every time I type it) to turn in my 5 granite hearts. I did
that and all I got were stupid health elixirs. No experience or anything. My
point, Granite hearts are worthless. From there I took hub back to see if anyone
was at the windmill. The windmill was empty . From the windmill I ported
back to hub and went back to Q’aldabar. I am still of course level 17. I went
to explore the Lugian citadel. It took me a decent while to figure out what to
buff besides my life protects to physical attacks. I ended up choosing Armor 4,
Piercing protection 4, Bludgeon protection 4, Blade protection 4, Rejuvenation
2, Endurance 4, and finally mana conversion 3. I started getting a taste of a
few Lugians and figured out a strategy to drain them. I can tell you my strategy
in game but it’s best if you develop your own. This strategy works for my
stats but might not work for yours. I got to 18 and a half here till I got a bit
tired.
After achieving 18 and a half I wanted to take a break. The citadel is some
place you can’t be for extended periods of time. It is full of immature and
inconsiderate people. Not to mention VERY annoying beggars. I had to fellowship
with one myself and he always repeated his sentences. I just had to get out of
there. I used the good old fashioned, “I have a allegiance thing to go to.”
Excuse. I headed back to Cragstone and let everyone know I would be checking out
walled portals. The usually silence from the windmill goers. Most busy in other
conversations. I then go back to hub and head to Mayoi. I take the ruins to
Baishi… sigh I didn’t servive. Sorry to say Emalia but I lost 3 death items
and 50,000 pyreals. It was my first irretrievable corpse in the game mainly
because I had no idea where it was. I plan NOT to be going to Baishi much
anymore until I can find my way around that damn ruin. From Baishi I take the
run to the madman’s tower. Reletively easy till the end. I had SWARMS and by
swarms I mean about 20 Reedsharks at the tower trying to get me because I had to
clear 2 away by the madman. The good thing about this was that I did not need to
give him sake. Someone did that for me. I took the portal and I was at the
legendary Walled Portals.
I look around see some people on the walls and one mage on the inside draining.
Not as amazing as you’d think the Dires would be. I take a look at the spawns.
A few Malus shreth, Tusker Guards, these undead captains think), Taitus and
Extas Lugians, Grievvers, and Banderling strikers and Beserkers. Oh, and there
were a couple Dire Ursin. I could only touch about 3 things: the Beserkers,
Malus Shreth, and the Tusker guards. I’m not sure about the Dire Ursin because
I didn’t have sufficient time to test my skills against them. The monsters CAN
and WILL find their way inside the walled portals. The secret to avoiding them
is to take the portal to outside the Accursed Halls. The good thing about that
portal is you can go back to Walled Portals without giving a drunk more Alchohol.
Your being a considerate person and not a enabler. The lesson learned
from my trip to the Walled Portals? Go here when you have war and a 180 jump
skill unburdened. Why? This way you can actually see the monsters you’re
trying to hit and you can touch the stuff by the time you actually have a 180
jump skill. You can also loot the monster too once you can get outside. After I
learned my lesson I headed back to the Lugian Citidel.
I spent today at the Lugian Citidel trying out the fellowship experience. There
is one phrase to describe the new fellowship system and you’ve all probably
heard it from the Tony the Tiger commercials. “They’re GREAAAAT!” It
didn’t take me very long to go from 18 to 19. Just very bad loot so it’s
nice to have a patron who hands you loads of money and says “Go buy comps.
NOW! Chop Chop!” I think we know who we are. Peas help a lot here. Buy peas
for your main components if you are able to. They’ve saved me from buying
components about 3 times. I usually just pick them up when I’m in town. An
interesting experience I had during level 18 was the Gigas jump room. Man it is
HECTIC. I believe we had about 6 or 7 deaths in our fellowship from hunting
here. Good thing only one was mine and corpses are easily retrievable in the
Lugian Citidel if you time the spawns right. Probably the best experience you
will ever see in your life is in this Gigas room. Well best experience from
level 10-20. I will be hunting here till level 20( main reason this journal is
13-20) and then it is off to the disaster maze for the last 6 level stretch. I
will be majorly pissed if I choose the wrong skill by accident when I spend
those 16 skill points. I mean MAJORLY pissed. On a side note, I was able to
summon a portal to Hub with only a 156 skill in Item. Amazing isn’t it?
Goals:
I will not reach the level 5 spells by 20. My
magic skills are quite expensive to raise for the currently level I’m at. It
costs about 7k or so for focus and self and around 8k for my specialized skills.
My current goals are to get run to 150, mana to 200 base, and health to around
80 base. I also want to get atleast a Life of 181 and Creature of 171 Base would
be nice but it will most likely be buffed that high.
