Al-Sahir - an Og mage, Entry 4

Well nothing much has happened since I hit 26. Currently I am only level 29. I was burned out from straight draining for 2 RL weeks to hit 26. It'll kill you after a while. I decided I was going to do a bit of questing. First thing I did after hitting 26, went to see larry the bunny master. I went before the December patch so he wasn't there but I did grab the purchasing order. After that I headed out, depressed that larry wasn't back yet. Must be a long vacation.

I headed to my usual post 26 hunting spot, walled portals. I have an affinity to this place. I love it and I hate it. I love it because the monsters are fun to fight and the loot is good. I hate it because of all the jerks who go there. First day I was there a guy calls me an a**hole. It was in responsive to answering a persons question. I was still buffing so I did not provoke this guy by stealing his kill. I ask why? He says I always kill steal ect. From my recollection I never saw the guy in my life. I shrug and continue buffing. Of course this is all from my point of view, I do not try and mangle the story so I don't mind if you form opinions on me from my journals.

In between that incident and yesterday there wasn't any kill stealing. Just monsters running after someone else like they do for some odd reason. Then those people running around walled portals so you can never get a clear shot off. Its not their fault and it just gets on your nerves after a while. Then came another problem. I finish something off. I notice that someone is fighting something on the opposite side of walled portals. I figure its safe to jump down and loot my kill. I'm looting, I get done about to head up and this tusker starts bashing my puny mage body. I do not buff with protects at the portals so I run up the stairs. The tusker doesn't follow me around the outside but jumps in. I notice he has a sliver of life left so I finish him off.

A few minutes later I'm fighting a banderling and it catches off on a guy. He starts running around the outside of walled portals so the banderling would follow him. I ask him what's he doing and he says something along the lines of screw you that was a dirty thing you did. I told him, hey the tusker was being on me what was I going to do? If anyone out there thinks I should have sat down there and died just let me know. My email is nwhusted@home.com and I'm welcome to your opinions. I've had yet more problems. Yesterday I'm fighting a banderling mangler. It takes me about 4 or 5 spells to yeild the thing but after that I'm usually ok. I start trying to lightning vuln him and the banderling then starts debuffing some mage inside. That mage starts promptly draining him to death. This was the last straw for me. I've been annoying by people all week and I just snapped. I let him know a good 4 or 5 times before he killed it that the banderling was mine. I was fighting him ect. He just said, "Well he attacked me" Mind you the banderling from what I saw did not drain him or caused any harm. Just debuffed him with cold vuln and imperil. The level 35 mage in question was going to drain from the INSIDE of the portals so any of those buffs would not effect him. He of course was a jerk off (pardon my language) about it for the rest of the time I was there.

*The time on the above incidents may be incorrect because after wall licking for 2 weeks I have completely lost my sense of time. Thank you*

Besides Walled Portals I've been hunting BSD every once and a while. I get mangled in there. First time I hung out there I gave a pyreal mote for the person who could get me back to my corpse. I didn't tie to the dungeon so... I think it was worth it. BSD for experience if your under 50 is horrible. It is usually impossible to find a monkey and personally I can't effectively take them with lifeand item 5s. At 29 in takes me a heckuva long time to get any 6s off to so that was out of the question. I found BSD was good for money though. Please put your jaws back in your mouths. Here is the trick. Grab sixth sense. Turn the item watcher from 6000p to 2000p. You'll walk out of BSD 20-30k richer in a 15 minute buff cycle. You can also end up with tusker heads if you want to get helms. It allowed me to get my first M note. Mind you I just started this game in September and my recomping routines cost about 15k(I buy peas). Just pick up the stuff people never care to loot and the money is all yours. Just make sure you remember to buff everything

Finally, the fun part of AC. Questing! I went on two quests since 26. Ob dagger and the bunny master quest. The bunny master quest was first so I'll talk about that. After the patch I went to larry the bunny master. There was a LINE of people waiting for the purchasing order. Of course I was smart and had one ahead of time so I give it to larry and head in to the dungeon. I buff up like I'd be hunting tuskers only I had piercing and slashing instead of bludg.

Well the dungeon was a nice little grotto. I walk out into the main area and there were no bunnies to be found. I shrugged and I saw the exit portal. I thought I was missing something. I looked around for items to grab and then I noticed a passage. Followed it through and found giant bunnies and an archer also there to kill them. We set to work on dispatching the level 41 bunnies. They had a GOOD bit of Hitpoints but didn't hit to hard. Only warranted 400 hitpoints. It took a while for the archer and I took kill them all. After dispatching the magical LSD bunnies we went to talk to larry. We got our bunnymaster title. Nothing to grab, just kill the bunnies.

Sorry to the archer though. I crashed before I could respond to your message

Next quest was the Ob dagger quest. All I can say was AMAZING EXPERIENCE. I went on this with 2 other people. I buffed the dagger person with 5s and myself but the archer didn't need any. We dove in and fought down to the portals. I noticed I had 110k experience just hanging around. My mouth opened wide. I spent it on focus and self. BIG mistake at the time. We are fighting through the lower half of the dungeon, slowly cutting are way to the first switch then it is time to rebuff. I hit level 29 rebuffing. God I love this quest. The switch I believe is after an acid pit jump. I made the first one with 197 buffed jump skill. After me and my dagger buddy reached the second jump, I had to recall home. I don't think I could have made it. I also didn't have the death items to protect my copper amulie coat. I think I should have saved the experience to raise coordination and my jump skill . I'm still sad I never got to finish the quest, guess I'll have to try again sometime. It was successful though. The dagger guy finished the lower half although the upper half was not finished. Our archer friend needed to log.

I think the few weeks since hitting 26 have been fun although rather boring. I decided not to talk about my hours learning a complete set of items and others. My sitting around and talking with allegiance members and my ignoring AC to play F1 2001 and Sports Car GT. If anyone has suggestions for some good hunting spots (specific) gimmie an email. I'll have to try them out and I'll of course give you all the credit in my journals. *waves* Cya all next time.
