Al-Sahir - an Og mage, Entry 8

Its been a long time I know. I've had a lot going on in real life besides AC burnout that has caused my erratic play schedule. The break in play also allows me to write a few more interesting things in this journal. I've done a lot of stuff since hitting 45. I got a Red matty robe, pulled chests, hunted BSD(again), hunted Aerlinthe, and scrwed around on the plateu after and before getting a legionarry pincer. I've also started a few secondarys. One being a dagger guy, and the other being a life spec xbow.

First I want to talk about Aerlinthe. The place is great. I love it and even tried out one of the mage fellows yesterday. Only 2.2 milllion an hour but better then anything I've gotten in BSD. I am waiting for the fabled 5 million. Another thing I'd like to mention is the amount of sellable loot you get there. Never once have I gotten an uber item but I've certainly gotten enough to make a profit after a comp run. You main food will be Manglers and Maulers. Both severely easy banderlings to kill. I've killed an Altered Drudge. They are a pain in the butt so it is best just to avoid them. Another monster that you can kill, with a bit of work are vapor golems. I've killed quite a few and they are reletively easy. Still had a couple deaths but mind you just the other day I noticed I had Nerfus Buffus not baning my armor for bludgeoning protection. Guess thats why they're hittin me in the 30s. If your looking on a great introduction to Aerlinthe don't look here but I have an awesome site also created by an Og Mage for you to check out. Next on my list is the legionary quest. I did this one with my patron Emalia. We were actually going for olthoi ichor... which took us about 30 minutes to find. We searched high and low and decided to pick up a pincer on the way. Nothing to special about this dungeon though, I mean it's olthoi and what else can you say about those bugs. I hate them. It makes me want meleeD. Legionaries did require a yield for me back at level 46. They really resisted most my spells before the yield. Tough little buggers. In then end we did get a pincer and olthoi ichor. Ended up dropping the stuff pincers off and getting all the good stuff. Save those dispell gems, they are majorly useful on Aerlinthe. I then went and got my red matty robe. Ehh, can't use it now because I don't have the 7s to buff it but hey, I'm looking towards the future. Next stop for me is hoary hunting.

Next on my agenda is chest pulling. I hate it. I really do loathe it. Most my scrolls are free giveaways from guild members because I hate pulling steel chests. Well all except around Teth. I love fort teth, I really do. Great place besides the perchers. I'd pull chests there all day and I suggest you do too. Why you ask? Well usually you need to clear a buttload of virindi first. Well there they are usually clear and the fools don't have the Sik's to open them muhahahaha. So I go by, pop the chest take the scrolls and move on to another chest near by. It's all clockwork. One thing I also like about the teth area is the hunting. You can find a smorgasboard of dires spawns and really only the good ones. I go by kill all the crap and then rinse and repeat. You get olthoi nobles, banderlings, lugians, and stinkin drudges. I also have found a decent amount of Crystal Golems.

Crystal Golems, the love hate relationship of any mage. I have a staff skill of 272, can't hit these guys to often. Havn't killed one yet. Debuffed the sucker and went after it, no luck. I hate their little counter for a mage spell crap. Even Imperil. It is just a pain in the butt. Maybe I just need to get an Atlan buffed with 7s instead of the stupid pine jo I was using. Then stock up on 50 health potions and sit there for an hour and a half beating on it with my stick. It's kinda like the stupid kid in your neighborhood trying to beat the crap out of a tank with a baseball bat. It just doesn't work. I will kill these guys sometime. I want the sing loot!

Back to BSD. I will keep this section short by the way. Welp I think I've hit the pinnacle of BSD experience. I can now move on to greater and better things. I've been powerleveling there since monday, hey 46 to 50 in the 3 days, I like it. I am amazed by the power on on upper 40s, lower 50s group there. The experience just gets better the higher your level. It does help I'm playing during major off hours though. 8-12 in the morning, then 1-3 in the afternoon. I like to take a little break to give my AC brain a rest. I have to say it is possible to hit 1.7 million experience points a hour in Teth BSD. Amazing yes, and tusker swarms are just so much dang fun.

Finally, I would like to say Congratulations for my wonderful patron Emalia. She hit 100 the other day. She is a Battlemage also so I'm sure your all happy to find that out :) I would like to say I ran out of goals, I'm just kinda exploring now. I want to rap up some loose ends and get my skills higher. I mean once an og or bm hits 50 they can go pretty much anywhere if their smart. I want to end this journal with a question, well two questions. I've gotten Arcane Lore now, should I go for Lockpick or healing next? What is the stinking MeleeD on Crystal Golems, what kind of staff skill will I need to hit them reliably? And that is the rest of the story. g'day(my best Paul Harvey impression).

*EDIT* I was going to take a nice picture when I hit 50 and say I finally graduated but I figure if I made fun of you battlemages you'd come and blow my og butt up ;)
