The DM - The Disaster Maze

Welcome Dungeon Dwellers,

It's that time again BM's. I slipped out of the GCD for awhile...but I will be going back soon once I can pass the lvl 25 restriction. My exploits bring me out into the now new Uber portion of Dereth...The Direlands....and 1 dungeon in particular...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Disaster Maze~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This place is any type of Mages Dream. There are great nasties in here as well as several vantage points...nooks...alleys and platforms from which to Rain your Warpath down on some of Dereth's famous critters.
I took my melee char out there to help portal myself in..the run quite literally sucked....really it sucked....I must've bathed in lvl 4-6 debuffs 95% of the run from BSD to the Virindi Fort to the Black Hills to it's base and into the swamp where the DM is located. Trust me it's not as clean as a bubble bath when Bludgeon 6 is on you and a Diamond is on your tail (that was fun).
Once inside I made my way forward thru a couple stalkers (mmm yummy xp) and a pesky Mountain Rat. There are 3 doors in front of you. The left on is a locked cage w/ very low lvl Drudges inside...the one heading straight forward ends up hitting 1 of the platforms above your head...you will want to go right. Inside this room you will see a caged off closet on your left (really small closet too) Take a right in this room and beware of the Stalker Hiding behind the right wall, he bites. Once you've finished him off you'll notice 2 ramps...one in front of you and on to the left...go left my magely friends.
You'll be back out over the front foyer and will cross the platform to another ramp. At the top of this ramp is a downward ramp and an upward ramp...continue your upwards pace...and BEHOLD....I dub this place THE ALLEY. The alley is a great leveling spot. To your right is a Stalker and Moutain Rat Hallway w/ several rooms to lock yourself in as an OG, or you may Vuln your Drudges thru the walls and come out guns blazing...a usual sweep through that hallway does require some buffing...but don't go overboard...I was just using an Imp on underclothes and Armor but no banes....however I did Armor 4 and Blade/Pierce Prot 4 myself and was only getting hit for 1-4 points at the most....not bad for skipping the Blade/Pierce banes on the Armor/Clothes. A sweep of the hallway usually netted me a good 16-25k per run, here. Plus if you make a good enough ruckus a few Drudges come out to a ledge at the end of the hallway and you can blast down on em.
Mmmm Tuskers.... I have yet to kill a lot of them (only 2 1/2 so far) but lemme tell you if your not resisted too, too much...11k is a nice reward. The Alley section of these hallways is just that...an alley...on the ledge there is a walled section to the right and left leaving a small alley witha well in it...on the right is a Virindi Servant and 2 Tusker Slaves.
Most of the Og's Drained the Tuskers through the alley wall, but I found a much more creative...BM route I called it. I would use my melee char to lure both Tuskies into the alley....and Rained down Flame bolt 4's on top of Flame vuln 4 for my favorite new side dish....Roasted Tuskers on a stick!!!!!!!
I quickly captured lvl 21, and I only played for an hour and had barely put a dent in xp since I grabbed lvl 20 earlier in the week.
That's it for now...The new outdoor spawns have become a small nuesance for those trying to find the elusive outdoor Tusker Spawns now...but rest assure that I will find more indoor Tuskers as I gain lvls and start making them my full time new dish instead of a delectable side order.
As Always Thanks 4 Your Support of my journal and of Dizzarian's wonderful site...Happy Hunting All and Good Journey.
DM Part 2
Well as you remember I was whooping it up waaaaaaaay out in the Disaster Maze. I'm still currently there because the XP is that much better for me right now than GCD (not talking bout lower half yet...2 lvls to go for that review). The alley is netting me 22k per Tusker Drain Spawn, and the Hallway is still netting me 26k per sweep and this is a very quick spawn...not sure of time....maybe 6-7 Stalkers/Lurkers every 5-7 minutes w/ 2 Tuskers Slaves. The Hallway has only 2 Lurkers and the rest are Stalkers. The best part of this place is the playing experience it brings...as I'm about to show you in this addition.
***********WHO LET THE OG'S OUT???***************
That's right my friends, you get to be your typical Battlemage self and blow stuff up in the alley and hallway....but you also get to use your og skills as well for an additional 20k on top of this...AND THIS ADDITION WILL GIVE YOU NON-STOP PLAYER LVLING!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I lit off lvl 21 pretty quick on the hallway/alley, but I shot up 2 lvls in the equivelance of 1 hours playing time. Went from 21 to 23 using this method, so here goes.
First just clear out the Alley and Hallway the same way I advised in the previous post....but then....run back down the ramp and kill the Stalker that meets you on the bridge, and the Stalker below the bridge...Then once back around to the very front of the Dungeon in that huge foyer there are a couple peddly loweer lvl drudges....but some nice Mountain Rats....and then the fun part.
There is a wall directly to the left of surface portal w/ Stalkers/Lurkers above you in a room...ready for a Drained Death....and then once you get them there is a door on the far left hand side of the foyer, w/ about 6 Lurkers/Stalkers and 1-3 Mountain Rats......Drain away!!!!!!
Now be careful and not get too close to the door....It's automatic like Grocery Store Doors. It has some kinda sensor that makes it open automatically when you stand too close in front of it and that would ruin your og fun. Once you've finsihed everything off you spawn upstairs in the Alley and Hallway will be back...and your set to go on a wash rinse repeat cycle of this....Each time you finish off one of these 2 sections, the other will have reset and will be waiting.
Well, that's all for now...I'm going to grab my last 2 lvls using this method and then head back to the GCD for a review of the lower part w/ Tuskers.
Happy Hunting to All and thanks 4 your support of the journal and Dizzarian's website.
