It Begins
As you can see this is the typical BM and I started in Rithwic as it's easy access to easham where my mules and main characters are at. I had started a failed mage earlier this month so I already had my society gear when I started. This stuff is definitly needed for any mage starting out. I have the War and life wands. The focus necklace, and the Endurance and quickness rings. Also I have an arcane lore 1 ring that helps me active my willpower 2 bracelet.
Leveling 1-9
I spent the first level learning spells up to level 2. I fought my way to eastham and when I reached there I was level 3. I think everyone who plays a mage did almost exactly what I did to level 9 and that's hunt on the beaches of Eastham. There's really nothing here that you have to avoid except maybe running into a group of 2 grommies but as long as you're carefull you can survive here easily with little deaths. Also the reason this place is great is because Eastham comps are cheap. Also many think that not having mana conversion till level 7 is tough but that really not true especially with the society wands. I was still able to squeeze of spells with only 2 or 3 points of mana.
Level 9 - 12
I fought my way up eastham beach to the double portals an moved on to Mayoi. I'm currently stoned at the lifestone west of town and hunt in the mountains there. This is really a great leveling area. Typical things I kill here are lugies up to Lagius, Matties and Golems (mmm Golems) at level 10 or so I learned level 4 protection spells which have helped tremendously especially when fighting matties. Other things in this area are mosswarts and dillos, God I hate both of these creatures and avoid them at all cost.
I really wanted to get to level 12 last night before posting this update but I ran out of comps and crack before I reached it and the tired mage is quite a run at my level.

Stratagies
- Learn to work the camera. I don't care if you're playing a mage or what this is such an incrediable tool. It allows you to asses your next kill. Also a very handy tip I've learn, in your options there's a setting to adjust the stiffness of the camera turn this down to the lowest setting it helps in making more presice movements with the camera. After doing this you can one of my favorite tricks...
- The off center camera. if you're standing on a hill and looking down at your prey you often can see them because your big butt is in the way. If you tap your 4 key (on the numpad) just once you can move the camera offcenter just right to the point before it turns and faces you. If you do this just right you can even run around and everything like this with out getting lost or dissoriented.
- Outdoor Luggies. Why is that some luggies pace around after you hit them? Man I hate this anyway if you happen to hit one that's not carring a rock you know he'll chase you. Being that I'm not very strong at this level I have to run. Well those sneaky lagius like to make you think they break off attack before they actually do. Make sure you watch for this, I got clobbered a couple of times because of this.
