Dizz Gets Item Magic
Well after 20 levels I reached my first milestone and got Item. Out of all the characters I have started this is the longest I have ever waited for it. Was it hard to wait this long? No it was a breeze, It only took about a week to get here (1d 15h in-game time). Haven't had any time to learn any spells with it so I'll be doing that tonight. I'll have to make a run to the tired mage one last time to comp up with item stuff, as I've only been carrying comps for war and life. I'm soooo glad to be getting item. My clan has a spot in eastham that we all meet at on a daily basis and I've really been missing them. So it'll be nice to get back with my peeps.
Golems
Still hunting at the southern dires portal. My hunting list hasn't changed much from the last I posted my diary except for those stupid golems. I originally said Coppers were on the list of creatures you should be able to take at these levels. I based this assumption on my ability to kill granites pretty easily and the fact that I had killed a couple. The more I tried to kill these things on a regular basis the more they kicked my ass. I was so puzzled by this then I look up Coppers on the MD List. WTF!!!
Does this make sense to anyone? Sure 169 is in my reach but that high of MD makes them not a fast reliable source of xp. It only took me till the middle of level 18 to figure this out. What a crock.
Drudges.. mmmm.. Drudges
OMG I can not find enough of these things. The are just so great for xp at this level. Every time you see a pack of these you can automatically think to yourself "There 15k xp sitting right there" By level 19 I was using the following strategy to kill drudges. I would pick the closest drudge and hit him with fire vuln 4. Switch to my war wand and run. While running all will break off except maybe 1. Turn around hit it with Vuln 3, and fire on it till it's 1 shot away from dieing. Cast STM, Drain Stam, finish him with war. Nice not only did you kill him but you now have no down time. go back kill the one you originally vulned. drain his stam and get the last. No mess, No Fuss, just good health xp.
So close to Item I can smell it
So last night I had around 100k to go till I got Item. I was very anxious to say the least. So I go about trying to find my drudge spawns, but there's nothing! I mean there's not a single monster with in a click of the Lifestone. It's like someone nuked the place. There were jokers running around everywhere. This meant I had to move out a little further to hunt. Well the night progressed and I only have about 30k to (2 packs of drudges) I swear the drudges new this. They started chain-casting like they were shadows or something. It was amazing, I had 15% vitae at one point and I was so pissed. Of course I got my revenge but I will be leaving this area tonight.
Stats
Between levels 17 and 19 I worked on Str/foc/self Why strength? I knew at 20 I was going to be getting item so I needed to bump it up to compensate for the new comps. Pushed my focus and self to 150 base which is where thing really start to take off. Level 19 I didn't touch a single stat or skill and saved all the xp I gained to put into item. When I got item I was able to push it up to 145 base. Not high enough to learn summon but good enough to cast impen 4 (I think)
Now that I have item
I need to make that decision I've been dreading since I started this temple, To learn portal tie or not. I wish there was an easy answer to this. I think my answer to it is : Try to see how long you can go with out it. We'll see I know me and I have a feeling it won't be long till I can't do with out it.
Where next?
Haven't decided on this one yet. I've got a couple of places in mind and Vardamir wants me to go out to the Plains with him, although I think this may be a little to crazy just yet. But I'm open to anything, except some dungeon i.e. no BSD for me. So if you have any suggestions please let me know.
