Dizz's Diary - Drudge Heaven

Well I think I can almost call this my weekly installment of what dizz is up to lately. As always this will be available on my webpage in html form at http://www16.brinkster.com/dizzarian

Dizz stops wandering

When we last left dizz he had gone to the ves islands and wasn't very happy with prey that he found there. So I sent haplo (my archer) out to go find me a new place. He went all over the dires trying to find a portal to sweet spot that had plenty of drudges and golems for dizz to hunt at. After not being able to find a decent portal he decided to find a good lifestone that may work. I knew of a very good lifestone down in the southern dires and started to head there. well along the way I found a portal that lead me to another part of the dires and I took it, tied to it and gave it to dizz. This was exactly what I was looking for.

Drudge heaven

I'm not going to give out exactly where I'm at simply because it's way too good and I'm the only one there right now. After I'm through with it I may be persuaded to give it out but that's still iffy. Just let it be know I'm along a coastal area of the dires. I first came here because there was a good amount of golems. I'm running along the beach and off in the distance I see some drudges. I get a little closer and it's not just a small spawn of drudges it a huge pack of drudges. I'm talking anywhere from 9 to 15 of these guys. Dizz drools and goes to work. 30k xp later I'm finished and run along the beach and find another pack of drudges. OMG is this a fluke? The next day I come back and find these type of spawns again. And I've been in heaven every since.

Walls and Rings

Around level 26 I learned my wall and ring spells. Yeah I know most people say these are useless but they are pretty cool so I learned them. Well I go back to my new hunting grounds and it occurs to me, these could be handy for the new spawns so I let a fire wall rip at a big pack of drudges, vuln 1 and the whole pack runs into my wall and the 1 I vulned died. sweet, now I just go back and pick off the ones I hit with the wall 1 by 1. Later I was hunting with another BM buddy of mine (yes I showed 1 other person the spot) and we came up with a strategy to throw about 3 walls a piece at the spawns. OMG this rocked, drudges were dropping all over the place.

The new strategy

So the next day I came up with a new strategy for a pack of drudges. This only works on flat ground as the wall spells are non-targeting. First I fire off 3 wall spells, cast STM and vuln 1 this will elimainate about 3 or 4 drudges right off the bat. I run and when I get down to 1 or 2 straglers, I steal their stam and eliminate them. Then I just go back and pick off the remaining drudges 1 by 1. It's very nice because since almost all of them have been hit by the walls they aren't alerted when you hit one of their buddies.

Tuskers

Besides all the drudges I now take on Tuskers whenever I find them. It takes a little more buffing but with the 11k or so xp they give it's worth the effort. I can't wait to start making these things my main meal, getting kind of sick of drudges.

The Stats

I have almost exclusively dumped all my xp into my 2 main skills. And as you can see it's paying off. I should have 200 in both war and life by level 29. Then I'm going to bump my item till I can cast level 6 imps and banes then it's on to tuskers.
