Dizz's Diary - Dizz Explores the Crater
No this wasn't suppose to be a monthly diary it's just ending up that way ;) Well I'm all settled in my new place and I'm starting to get to play more so I'm well on my way to 50. In website news my website became way too popular this last month and my provider shut me down. So I've had to move to a new provider. I'm not through with this move yet so there will continue to be improvements to it. In fact if I ever sell my old house I will be moving it it a real domain name. But for now you can find this and all the other journals online at http://dizzarian.com/acmages This diary will cover levels 38-41.
When last we left
Dizz
I had been hunting out on the
OP picking and choosing my fights with tuskers. Well it was
taking quite a while to run from the WaiJou to a good hunting
spot, so I stocked up dizz and headed out to find a new hunting
spot. So I ran from WaiJou to the BSD that sits on the plains.
The run there at my level actually wasn't too bad since I now
knew how to run on the OP now. But when I got there it was like a
circus show. There were tons of people inside and out. Inside
there were tuskers actually rampaging the place, I didn't even
know this happened anymore but it was here. So I killed a few and
went outside. Outside was even funnier than in, there were people
trying to kill tuskers but getting to close to virindi. Someone
pulled a Shadow Wisp to the area and it was terrorizing the place
also. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. This was definitely not
for me, I can't put up this kind of idioticy for very long so I
moved on to the destination I was ultimately trying to get to
anyway. Tumedion.
Tumedion Dungeon
The run from BSD to Tumedion is actually a pretty short but I
little hairy. Tumedion have very few people who actually use it.
Most who are there either use it a starting point into the OP or
are archers who hunt all the drudges, virindi and tuskers who
live in the dungeon. I actually hunted inside the dungeon for a
brief period of time. It's hard to find a spot in there has
tuskers but doesn't have virindi masters or hollow minions but I
did find one place that served me well for level.

Run Dizz Run
Well if you keep up with my
diaries at all you know that I'm not really big on dungeon
hunting with mages. So it was time to head up top and hunt on OP
again. I tried, for a while, to hunt around Tumedion but the
spawns were hard to wade through just to find tuskers. So kind of
depressed, I ran. I ran to one of the cracks in the crater. And
when I ran that far I thought to myself, well I ran this far, I
might as well run further into the center of the OP. And when I
ran that far I thought, well since I ran this far I might as well
run to the center. (ok enough forest gump) So I took my first
trip ever since starting AC to the center of the plains. It was
day time which make this run significantly easier. Really cool
stuff lots of mushrooms, nasty critters and a cool fountain at
the center. I didn't stop but thought to myself, I'll have to
come back here. (*cough* foresight *cough*) Since I didn't stop
running, I decided that I should head to the next closest dungeon
which is Sotiris. Now this is remote, more and more people are
finding out about this place which is really a shame as it's such
a nice portal for the OP. I didn't explore this dungeon at all I
just went straight to the plains.

Tusker Camps
Well I happened to know of a tusker camp near Sotris, and I'm
getting close to my 40's and I really want to get 50 badly so I
went there. I think everyone knows what a tusker camp is so I
won't go into the details here. I really didn't expect to find
too many people here as it's way out on the plains but alas I
live on MorningThaw and everywhere is camped. At certain parts of
the day it's cool and I might actually get 2 camps to myself but
most of the time I got 1, and I hate negotiating with people for
spawns it just doesn't feel right. But this definitely pushed me
over level 40 so they aren't too bad but I don't see myself
living here for the next 10 long levels. They are exciting at
times but dull and boring most others.
So WTH you going to
do?
Well the nice thing about Sotiris is that it's one of the closest
locations near the center of the plains. When I was running
through there I noticed many tusker spawns so that's where I went.
I have found that with the right route I can actually kill more
tuskers than I can at tuskers camps and I don't have to take 5 at
a time every time which means I don't have to buff nearly as
extreme and I can get away with just item 5's which means faster
turn around times. Now this would not be true for melee players
as I've seen them plow through the tuskers spawns and there's
probably no better xp for them. Ok little geography lesson on the
center of the plains. This image didn't turn out nearly as good
as I intended because of the stupid jpg format

Ok to start off with let's look at my hunting routes. The dark blue is nice easy route that takes you through some prime tusker hunting areas. This is the route I take when I don't have a lot of time and I'm trying to maximize my xp for the amount of time that I'm on. Another interesting thing about this route is it allows you to get to the top of the crater rim and the funny thing is the green zone has different spawns, they're more dire spawns than OP spawns. Also random portals spawn in this area. Next is the Crater hunting route, as you can see there only a few access points into the crater and they are tight areas with heavy spawns. This is one of those duck your head down and run through areas. The goal is to get to the yellow safe area (safe being relative) and then picking off the remaining pursuers, if possible. This thin strip has few spawns and gives access to all the spawns in the crater. If you're really in trouble you can also try to jump on a mushroom but keep in mind this doesn't always make you safe. Now I show this not to see 10 other people doing this exact same route, but to show you how to explore an area and make it your home.
The Stats
Well I had thought I had stats for 40 but I found out I forgot to
take them. So we'll have to make do with 41 stats, they're more
interesting anyways as I have done a lot of things since 40.
Ok first let's look at the skills since they are easy. After I hit 200/200 on focus/will I bumped my life/war up to 235. This is getting close to where I want it before I get critter. My plan is to have them both at 250 by 50. Also I bumped my item up into the range where I can pull of Impen 6. It still fizzles a lot but doable with an item 2 wand. I really need to get my ManaC up but it'll be a while before I'm really concerned about it. Now the base stats. I'm currently working on health, stam and mana. I'm trying to get them up in ranges where I never have to touch them again. So I'll probably even all the stats out over the next level or so and leave them alone till 50.
Till Next time, Have fun and Blow stuff up!
