Saviors Hand - Journey walked by few, BM Creature First 1/15
"Aghhh! What
happened? My.......head." It was horrible, it felt like someone just hit me
dead in the forehead with a rock. Raising my hand to my temple I discovered a
soft bandage. I must have bled in my sleep. I had best not remove it.Grazing my
face I found even more disfigures. A diagonal row of slices, three different
gashes in all..almost as if someone had clawed me, crossing from my upper right
eye to my lower left cheek. A very deep cut that went at one inch away from my
ear to the vertical end of my lip, ....left side of my face. A large piece of
skin was missing from my lower chin and jaw. Burns to my right ear with a few
small cuts that were surprisingly annoying. The rest I could not tell, most of
my face seemed to be covered in a sticky bandage, not necessarily wool or
tissue, just a silicon type substance. Including my facial injuries I noticed a
few other things. First off all I could not feel my left leg, my right arm was
swollen, and my chest was in a lot of pain.
My senses finally kicked in, I needed to find out where I was. After some
thought and contemplation I tried to open my eyes. It was dark, very dark, I
almost could not see anything. Immediately my right eyelid shut in on itself and
I gasped in pain. My eye must been injured, I wonder why I didn't feel it to
begin with. Still able to use my left eye I looked around for anything that
could help me recognize where I was.
(pause}
Nothing, there wasn't anything. Well I am sure there had to be something, I just
couldn't see it, it was too dark in there. "Damn!". What was going on
here! How could I have been injured so! "....................nnnnooo....it
must have been that damned women. What had happened. The last thing I remember
is we were in battle, I dropped to the ground, she fired arrows into the Drudges
killing them. After that it was a little sketchy. And then she....tuuuuurrrned........aaaannnnnddddd.......fired
and arrrrrrow at me. Right? Isn't that what had happened? Yes, I remember now,
she let it loose. But what happened after that?
Ugghh I have no clue. " After a moment of thought I had stopped, it was
hurting my head thinking so hard.
One thing was for sure. I would never be the same. With these injuries I was
sure even the lifestone would not be able to heal me. They just seemed,....tooooo....deep.
However no matter what happened I needed to get up. This place felt evil, and if
I did not get out of it soon, especially in my weakened condition,....well I
didn't want to find out. I spoke the magic words of Heal Self III and heard the
crackle of magic starting to take it's course. Rising to a full pitch it's magic
flowed over me.(pause)
Nothing happened. I still felt the same. Magic must have been banned here. I
would have to do this on my own.
Using my left arm I grabbed the nearest thing to me. It was a table! I was on an
exam table. Hmm...., it was cold, felt like metal or steal, yet surprising soft.
Must have been designed with comfort in mind. Locking my joints into position I
set my arm up so I could lung my weight into and and push myself up. Ok.....(puffed)...one.....two......THREE!
With that I pushed my entire body onto my left and arm. Not able to take the
punishment it cracked and I immediately fell back to the table. I hit the bed
with a thump and tried to not tear from the massive doses of pain. It hurt worse
then my eye had a few minutes ago. I stood there and writhed in my own misery
for a few moments until the pain seemed to vanish away.
This was most surprising. I felt tingly all over and a sort of cool washed
though my body. It was almost....pleasuring, in it's entirety. After a few
moments the feeling melted away and all I felt was a warmth in my whole body. A
sort of pain killer must have been injected into my body to nullify the pain.
That said there must have been someone in the room administering it, that
said..someone was watching over me.
"Who's there?" I spoke rather weakly. "Shoosh, do you want them
to hear you?" There was someone there. A male. In the pause between his
next sentence I worked out that his voice sounded like an advanced middle age to
elderly years man, weathered, sort of rusty. Judging from the distance in the
sounds he must have been at least 13 feet away. "Speak quietly or I shall
have to silence your voice." he said.
"Where am I?" I said, almost too loudly
"I cannot tell you.".
"What do you want with me, why am I hurt?".
"I cannot tell you, but trust in my words that you shall know soon
enough.".
His voice sounded a little closer, he must have been moving towards me, maybe I
would get a chance to see his figure and find out who I was up against, or what
even.
"I swear if you hurt me I will kill you faster than you can even
understand.".
"I doubt that is possible, but trust me. I will not hurt you."
He was only moments away. Come on...come closer you...let me see your face....
Only a few inches away he turned on a light.
A green tint flashed in it's eyes.
"Nnnnoooo.....".
"Do not worry young one, this won't hurt a bit".
I clinched my teeth, and spoke under my breath, "Damn!".
A few moments later Saviors Hand was asleep.

Journal Number 3
Journal Entry 3
At the end of my last journal I had decided to go to Grenaline Consulate
Dungeon. Talk about a great place. In case you have not been there before here
are some of the basics of it.
Part 1 of the dungeon consists of a quest that involves 3 different scrolls, a
whole lot of drudges and enough fun to wave a stick at. When you first enter you
should be on top of a platform that has usually a few people on it and two
boards that lead down to the floor. At first look this could seem like a simple
dungeon, and guess what..it is. The layout is actually quite simple in terms of
the way things are spread out. It's pretty hard to get lost once you know how to
get back to the main room. As far as beastys go it's the normal old fashion dark
drudges
Drudge Lurker (Magic Resistance 100): A small
heighted Drudge proficient in the use of magic, quite willing to cast a
Vulnerability Other III on you and quite frequently a war spell. While it's
spells normally consisted of the usual Acid Stream I find that it hits with all
different types of spells, so remember to buff for all types of damage.
Difficulty: Individual: Low, Group: Moderate
(NOTE: Keep in mind that War Magic spells are in no way effected by your Item
skills, so don't worry about not being able to bane your armor for damage
types.)
Drudge Stalkers (Magic Resistance 108): A slightly bigger Drudge. With a
marginally better Magic D and some more health these seem to be a tad bit more
difficult than their Lurker brethren. However still quite manageable and wielding
a small amount more exp it would be wise to kill these critters. The spells
range a bit more than the average lurkers cast but the spell level will never
rise above level III. I recommend these Stalkers as the dominate prey if you
cannot handle the second half of the dungeon.
Difficulty: Individual: Low, Group:Moderete
(NOTE: Keep in mind that War Magic spells are in no way effected by your Item
skills, so don't worry about not being able to bane your armor for damage
types.)
Innocent/Pristine/Innocuous (Magic Resistance143/143/123, respectively): Blade
worked for me, just remember to be quick, they aren't very stamina drain worthy
(only getting a cetain percentage back) and they don't give good loot or
experience
Virindi Servants (Magic Resistance 258) The usual annoying Virindi. Make sure to
only take one at a time, by now your skills could only take one, if any at all.
Spells involve Vulns, level IV or higher Wars and a while bunch of bad things.
Protect for everything with these bad boys
*.* the Legate( Magic Resistance 258) Just a Virindi Servant supped up. A bit
higher magic skills and a pain in the ass, but beatable if you try REAL hard.
REAL being the emphasize. Good luck if you don't have help.
You can do the following here. You can stay up here and be a drain mage, taking
down every drudge that is there, usually a 5 minute or so spawn.
Go down and choose to go any one of the respected routes for battling Drudgys or
get the aforementioned scrolls.
And three jump off and go under the platform to continue to the next part of the
dungeon.
For a while I did all three (first for about 5 minutes, second for a few hours,
third for a few days)
Scrolls:
Like I said there are 3 different scrolls here that are kinda special. If you
are looking for the lore behind these different fine spells check out http://cod.xrgaming.net
and I am sure they should have some good information. However a brief summery
after you get the scrolls explains that the Virindi are in contract with the
Lugians (who would'a thunk that gee-bob?
).
Getting the scrolls are pretty straight forward. Let's discuss the right
direction first...
Go right and after a few steps you will encounter
anywhere between 3-6 Drudges, Stalkers and Lurkers alike. To kill them I
recommend Blade or Fire. I myself used Blade. Lead off with a vuln then a few
blade blasts. If you find yourself running out of mana before the beasty is
finished do an STM and then DS (Drain Stamina). I find doing this in the dungeon
a lot helps with downtimes, which in turn really starts to rack up the exp.
After dispatching these suckers the route is pretty simple. Just follow it the
way down and you won't encounter any type of turn that throws you off course.
However be prepared for battle all the time, you would be surprised how many
drudges spawn and close quarters is definitely not fun
.
After going a ways you should encounter some dolls. Be prepared they do some
good damage against you without some type of item banes. Soon you should reach a
room where you have a Virindi Servant and one of the Legates. Try to make sure
you have killed the other nearby creatures Pick on the Legate first, lead off
with a Vuln. Preferably Blade. Both should come after you but if you just stick
to the legate, the Servant will leave and you should have a CHANCE to kill him.
Forward. Nearly exactly the same as a matter of fact, exactly the same. Only
slightly different in the hall's shape.
Left: Unfortunately I guess it is the exact same. I never encountered anything
out of the norm from the others.
Scrolls:
Arcane Restoration: Increases the caster's natural mana rate by 100%.
Unnatural Persistence: Increase caster's natural healing rate by 100%
Dark Flame: Shoots a dark flame at the target. The flame does 46-90 points of
righteous fire damage to the first thing it hits
GDC Part 2
After a few hundred thousand experience you can move on to the second half of
the dungeon. However I would like to add that this will be a difficult prospect
and I don't recommend it if you believe that you are not too well familiar with
your BM. To get to the back end drop from the beginning platform to the bottom
floor, if you look in the middle of the platform from that level you should find
a hole. Go into it and follow it down to the end. Along the way you will find a
lot of Stalkers, so be prepared. After a bit of winding and running you should
reach a portal. Go in fast, or you will have a bunch of V- Servants on your
back. Inside you have the following beastys
Drudge Ravener (Magic Defense 150): A lot harder than
their lower cousins. Be prepare with all types of damages and don't be surprised
if they hit you hard unlike Stalkers and Lurkers. They normally cast level IV-V
spells. Be careful, around here you will be facing around 3-5 at a time. And at
this level that can be real dangerous.
Difficulty: Individual: Low-Moderate Group: Dangerous-Deadly
(NOTE: Item buffs do NOT work, don't even think about it, read the above to find
out.)
Virindi Servants: Read above for stats.
Tusker Guards (Magic Resistance 180): Mage candy, they are so lovely and give
you so much exp, couldn't live without them. However they hit hard. And without
item buffs you will have to wait longer and you will be taking more damage indefinitely,
so don't think it would be a walk in the park.
When you first enter the portal space is very safe for buffing, unless some one
has already dragged along a bunch of monsters with them. Buff for all
protections. For now don't worry about such a high armor level or bludge prot.
You won't be able to fight Tuskers for a while and Drudges don't need THAT many
physical protections (magic is where they really get you). After buffing you can
travel forward and in the hallway, after reaching the next room you should
encounter 2 Drudge Ravs. I would lead off with a Fire Vuln, because I found they
are weaker to Fire, that and I don't like having to switch between Fire and
Blade when I am fighting Tuskers at the same time.
After engaging in battle with the two another one from an above hallway usually
gets into the heat and now you should have three. If you are careful, drain a
lot, you should be fine. For now do not take more than 3 at a time. Just get
used to the feel of killing them in mass quantities like I did. From this room
enter the upcoming hallway you should encounter a room that has a purple mist
that emits from the floor. What I did, because it was the safest way to do
things, was hug the left wall and go down that hallway till I encountered
another room with three Ravs. When you kill these you should go back to the
purple mist room and pick the rest off there if there is any. From here you can
restup and go back to the first room and start this all over again. The spawn is
actually quite good, you shouldn't have to wait too long. When I was here I had
level V creature buffs and I could usually get to around 2 Rav spawns per buff.
Great Experience after a while.
Do this for a while while beefing up your life/war/magic resistance/mana c
skills so you can start taking it to the big boys, Tuskers.
Around level 29-30 you can start attacking away, do the above except when you
get to the room AFTER the purple mist room you should continue forward....very
carfully I might add. There are way too many tuskers up there and you must be
careful to not anger too many. I recommend vulning one then just taking one or
two MAX at a time. To kill them well without item magic just drain away till
around 1/4 of the it's life is left, then kill it with War spells. Just keep
doing this forever, may seem a little straight forward, but to be honest it is.
You should just keep at it and after a while you can take two, then three
tuskers, then you can take Ravs at the same time. Till you get to the point
(what I did that is) where you can take 3 Tuskers, and 4 Raveners at once. If
you are careful and don't freak out too much you CAN do it, it's just damned
hard.
At level 31, almost 32 I called it time to leave here for a great place my Allegiance
said is absolutely fantastic. Out in the dires and full of good old fashion
beastys and goodness. Let's just say that I have killed around 13 or so Olthoi
Nobles, many Tuskers, a Dread Ursin (which had a coat on it...got 2 sings for
it, never even got close a to a sing before, got two right off of that ONE
kill), Diamond Golem (first Diamond golem kill..go me), and a bunch of other
cool things.
The following are some(some..more like twenty or something) pictures that I have
posted for people who asked for them. Sorry if you did not like this edition I
apologize. Also take into account that the unbuffed pictures of me in my Virindi
Mask are with Vitae, so don't take those as my real skills. I would have burned
them off, but when the most powerful drudge in the entire game kills you while
you are not watching and then guards your body, recovery and vitae burnoff is
pretty hard
.
As for my next journal I will have my adventures from the lifestone I speak
about and it's location. Plus how to get there. If you have any good or bad
comments post to this or email me at worf228@hotmail.com.
Here are those picutures I spoke of.
(Note:They take a gallons worth of space on my website, around 5 MB. So I might
have to get rid of them, look at them while you can)
