Saviors Hand - Journey walked by few, BM Creature First 4/07

That day had sent me reeling for sanity. The man that died, because of me and it was only my fault. No one elses. Normally when someone dies you can say it was partially from their own acts, something that they had brought upon themselves in some way, but this man had not. He was just a normal person that was hunting to get food for himself or family or what not and...and happened to fall from a misfortune that was in no way his doing. How many had died from this in other towns? How many peopled had died all together? How many more would suffer from this? How had this whole thing happened?

All these thoughts have been racing in my mind the whole time since I saw his body on the ground. His head was missing and he had deep gashes to his upper torso where he must have been slashed.

For those people that may be reading this in some later date let me explain what has happened. Three days ago I woke up to find people yelling and screaming. At first I did not know what had happened and ran to my new partners quarters to wake him. Turns out that he was already in fact outside listening to people talking. When I came downstairs I heard a women speak about a malfunction with the lifestones. Every time a living creature had died it would die a normal death. The lifestones themselves seemed to run out of energy. Seeing as every time a lifestone revives someone it uses energy, eventually, it will run out. So whenever a body was to be respawned it was left for dead and the lifestone itself would unbind the individual, who was to be left forever in the afterlife. That day five people from the town had been discovered as dead. Three of them were children playing in the woods. They had been attacked by some wild Drudge Skulkers while playing a game. Normally, because the parents had sense to bind their children to lifestones, they would have respawned a little weak but alive and well -- I helped to bury them yesterday. It hurt me deeply, even though I had not known these people or their children. It was wrong in any case to see an innocent be killed. Their recovered heads had a bemused expression on their face, as if they weren't expecting it. And when I looked at them I thought of how they were just normal children, interested in a little creature. I cried for the next three hours. For me the pain in me was deep. I could not help it. Death was such a hard thing for me, and to have....children...die it made me fall in despair. I have not had such a heart destroying experience in my whole life. I promise here at this date that I will fight in the name of those children; Jonah, an Aluvian boy around the age of 7; Al-Beshir, a gahrunm'dim young man the age of 10; and Shin'ha, a little 9 year old sho girl. I promise with everything that is true and valued in my heart that I will find a way to reverse this calamity and avenge their deaths. -- I swear it!

"My friend you must come over this. It was not your fault, can't you see that?" . Derricki must have approached while I was thinking. I did not want his companionship at the moment and I certainly did not want to speak to him. I didn't want to talk to anyone at all.

"I do not wish to speak to you, go away."

"Are you going to sit here forever and writh in your own pain? It's not good for you."

"I know what is good for me and what isn't. Now leave me be, you are my friend now and I do not wish to say something that I might later regret."

I left a long pause for him to think about what I had just said.

"So be gone and leave me in peace, so that I may contemplate my thoughts"

"Your thoughts are the things that are destroying you. The more you think about them the more you despise yourself. Get this into your mind. It was not your fault. You did not cause their deaths. No one did. It was going to happen eventually. The lifestones do not run on an infinite powersource. Nothing goes on forever."

I did not answer. He had no idea, he had not killed five people in one day. He did not have sins as deep as I. How could he possibly comprehend my evil, my wrong doings. Deep down it was somehow my fault for not finding out that the lifestones had not fallen before they did.

"Well whatever you might think..." Derricki continued "You must know this. I talked to the local barkeep, who supposedly is always in contact with the town leader, and after a few hundred pyreals he had some tidbits of information I found usful. Supposedly the town will been confined. The powers that be have called that Holtburg be closed off and all the inhabitants be exiled inside. I guess they do not believe our story about the lifestones. I guess they want to make sure that their own population is saved from this...this 'menace'.".

"And what of it?" , I responded rather rudely.

"Well once you get your head out of your arse, I had plans to leave the place before it becomes official, do you really want to be stuck here?"

".......No....."

"I didn't think so. Now whatever you may think what happened of whos fault it is, the fact stands that we have to find a solution to what happened. If anything just to avenge the children. Do you want their deaths to be in vain?"

"...No". Of course I did not want their deaths to go on without warrent.

Derricki seemed to smile from that. "Then we must leave. By foot for privacy's sake. I don't really want to explain why we are leaving it we were caught."

.....For the children. "Give me a few moments to pack my things and get ready."

"I will be waiting outside."

Derricki left my doorway and headed outside. What was I doing?

I got up from the bed and went to my pack. There were herbs in there that might help with the scaring on my face. During my abduction from the Virindi I had been scared badly. When I awoke they were still there and seemed to be swollen. After I got to Holtburg I went to the local healer hoping that he might have something for me. He spoke of some kind of mixture between Hyysop and another chemical he kept secret. It sounded like the process of making a treated healing kit. I paid a good many pyreals for it and headed on my way. Hopefully the treatments would help effect my face. After a few rubs with the chemical the swelling did disappear and the scars weren't as noticeable, so I could not complain with the results. Another half of the bottle and I should be fully healed.

While I have been thinking lately my friend went out and bartered for some armor. While he himself did not acquire anything too useful, with my things he was able to receive something called Shadow Armor. According to the trader it was of the Greater Varity and highly valued. Hoping to cheer me up, as he called it, Derricki bought it for me and returned to my room. I tried it on and surprisingly it fit like a glove. I found it to move whenever I needed to but not be too loose for comfort. To test it's durability, Derricki hit me a few times. The damage absorbed was decent and it did not seem to scratch at all. Inside of a pocket I found note addressed to "SH".

"I got him to write it for you" Derricki said. When I opened it, the letter spoke of how I must take good care of this armor. It was intuned with it's user and would not drop when that being had died. It also spoke of how the armorer who built it was renouned and that it would not break, no matter the circumstances. I happily thanked Derricki and set it in my pack, it would indeed prove useful.

My belongings were set and I was prepared for my departure. I grabbed out my new armor, put it on, and started to walk down the stairs. As I got closer to the bottom I could hear people talking outside. It was Derricki and some others. It sounded like the women from the mountains!

The Archer began to speak quietly, "Don't deny it Derricki, you are on the journey to find him. We know such things. Now give up, it is not possible. Trust in the fact that we know your secret."

"What secret?!" I spoke as I got out of the building

Everyone seemed to pause. They must have not expected me to come. After a long moment Derricki spoke.

"I don't know what she is talking about either..."

Another moment of pause. I was getting worried. Something was about to happen, nothing good I was sure of. A few seconds and Derricki pulled to his belt. From it rose a staff made of red fire. With it he lunged forward to attack one of the people near the archer women. The staff struck him dead in the chest and you could see his torso burst into flame. The man screamed in pain and fell to his knees. Not a second later he kicked his foot back into the other mans groin immediately followed by a turn around to strike him in his temple. With those two dead he yelled to me, "Run!" . Out of the shadows more seemed to approach. For a minute I hesitated. I wondered if I should pull out my wand. 7 people....0 I was not going to let this end in our death...

""Mesha. Moria Cavia-"

"No!" Derricki interrupted, "Not here, trust me." . He seemed prepared as if he was expecting this whole situation.

"But-" , I said

He reached for my arm and gently grabbed it.

"No, trust me. We must go..."

Confused I put away my orb and ran along with him.

"After him!" yelled the archer women "Don't let him live, he must not be allowed to escape!"

Derricki seemed to smile at this. However we kept on going. We continued to run for a few more minutes until we evaded our pursuers and found a place to rest. For a moment I tried to comprehend what had happened. We had been talking, 'The women' comes up to attack us, and we have to escape? It did not make sense.

"What are we going to do?"
I spoke.

"I can't think of anything besides go to the next town and see if they are having the same problems. Obviously our lifestone could not have been the only one to malfunction. There must be more out there failing. And we should attempt to save their lives."

"What about the women who was she?"

"That women was Liltha the Hunter. She is a master bowswomen. I am sure you have heard of her?" , I had, "Well I owed her some money in the past that I supposed swindled her out of. She must have found out that I was here. As for the other stuff I have no idea...but we need to continue on."

"Alright, well Rithwic is only an hour or twos walk from here. We should attempt to search from there. Hopefully there are no more...."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the next three months it seemed to be the same thing. As we reached Rithwic it's Lifestone had just gone haywire. No one had been killed due to our intervention. But many people could have died. After that we ventured to Easthem. The same had been encountered. Except for one old man had fallen while venturing outside. We stayed for a few days to console the family. We continued to venture till yesterday when we had reached Shoushi. I won't forget what happened.....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We both arrived in tattered condition. I was tired, as I am sure Derricki was, and we had needed to rest. At the outskirts you could see nothing. It seemed to be perfectly peaceful and calm. Nothing showed signs of destruction. However as we ventured forth it became worse. I heard cries of pain and fire crackling. I don't know how my companion felt but I was with despair. I thought that it's own lifestone had done the same as all the others and expected the worst. I walked for a while longer until we encountered the lifestone itself. But it didn't look drained or dead. It seemed to be normal and perfectly fine. No signs of irregular activity around it either. That must mean that something else had happened. I immediately went into my magic stance and started to cast Magik protections. After Derricki and I had prepared we set off on a running foot to Shoushi itself. When I got close I saw many things. The tower was on fire and it's roof had collapsed. Around that many other buildings seemed to lay in ruin.

"Help me!" . A young women was in front of me casting spells on a Tusker. She looked like she needed help badly.

"Let's split up. You take the boundrys and I will take the inside." We nodded our heads to each other and I ran forth to help her. Along the way I could see all the destruction. Every building in town must have been damaged in someway. Whether it be a hole in the wall or a floor collapsed on another there was some structural damage.

"Are you coming or what?"

"Yes I am on my way."

She was certainly having some trouble, a Tusker Guard was attacking her. Hehe, I thought. Just leave it too me. Like a whirlwind I was pulled and prepared for battle. I let loose a wave of energy to land on the Tusk's hide, weakening it to a Fire blast. "Zojak Quasith" I screamed, followed by a blast of fury fire from my wand. It impacted on the beasts side and it turned to smack me. With my protections still up, it punched me in the hip. A wave of pain engulfed me. I fell to the floor instantaneously. I had never fought with a Tusker before and now I would understand it's power. I was much to weak for it. However I prefer not to go down without a fight. I let loose another fire bolt, just to see it impact on it's hide with no damage dealt. Another, and another. All with the same result. The beast was resisting my magic.

"Can you hurt the him?" , the women mage screamed out.

"No, he is too strong." . Or I must be especially weak... "If you could weaken it my strong War skills should be enough."

"I shall try..."

The women began to chant in language I did not understand. She must have been from the "Og" deciple. Those concentrated on the weakening of a monster and not it's death by elements. After she spoke she reached forward with her wand and proceeded to do a slashing motion downwards with great intensity. The wand itself was impacting air, but her words and magic seemed to pierce through the mind of the Tusker. She must have weakened his sense of magic resistance. This would be the prime moment for attack, I suspect her spells would not last long. I called upon words so powerful that it made my magic spell's power with in the "V" range. Doing massive damage to my target. This time the spell impacted it's hide to burn it's hairs and flesh. It let loose a thundering roar that accented his pain. Another ball of flame later and the beast was on the ground bleeding. Breathing heavily from it's wounds. He must have been in extreme amounts of pain. To put it out of it's misery I fired the final ball. It jumped in agony and fell to the ground. With it's death I let a sigh of relief.

A few moments later I looked to my side in arms. Seconds of tension and I opened my mouth to speak to her. She suddenly got a shocked look on her face. She had been looking past me. I turned around to see two shreths, of the Blood and Malus variety, and a two Tusker Guard climbing the walls. When they reached the top they laid their eyes upon us and yelled with fury. With a blinding rage only known by wild beast, they descended down and charged to our position. I ran next to my comrade and readied myself. She looked into my eyes with sheer terror. These beast were strong enough to twine us in too. The chances of us living to the end of this battle would be very finite and few.

"Don't worry. It will be ok. I will protect you." I told her.

She turned her head again to look at the charging monsters. It would only be a few moments before they had reached our position in the center of town. She readied her wand and tried to speak. She trembled onto every word and could not seem to concentrate. For a moment she just seemed to stand there. Not moving a muscle or saying a word. I was worried. Without her help I would not be able to stand my own ground. And we, and the town, would surely fall. Seeing my impending doom would not be pretty. I called upon the highest spell that I had in my mind, a cold spell of the "V" variety and let loose. The cold bolt rushed forth with great intensity and impacted on the blood shreth. It fell to the ground, dead. Now there would be only three left. Again I let called upon magic to fire another cold spell. I however failed. My magic was not enough. I looked to my companion. She was still not moving or saying anything. Aggravated I yelled to her.

"What are you waiting for?! SHOOT!"

As if awaking from a trance the women shot to attention and started to chant. She did the same "slashing" spell and a halo of energy surrounded the Tuskers head. I attempted to fire another fire war spell. Again I fizzles my magic and was weakened. The beasts had gotten close enough to strike now. This was not going good....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"He is performing well. I did not expect him to get this far.".

A man with in black stood atop a tower two miles from the town. His cloak was a gleaming black with a tink of silver at the ends. His facial features were indefinable under a dark hood, and his hands were hidden within his robe. He was 6 and a half feet with an average build. His voice itself was raspy. A sound of an old man that was fifty years or older.. Next to him was another man of less height. With the same covered facial features and hands. He must to be an apprentice of the other.

"But what of his companion? He was not expected in this. He could ruin everything. We must stop him now!"

"Calm down young one." He spoke with no anger or hesitation in his voice. His words seemed to be precise and chosen to the letter. "He cannot defeat us. His plans are of is own . He presents a new....challenge. One that needs to be delt with accordingly. I don't see him as a problem at this time young one."

"And the mage?"

"He does not yet understand his power. He must be tested to be shown worthy. If he is not worthy than non of the others were worth the time."

The old one looked off in the distance. He could see the mage shoot bolts of fire at the Tusker. Within moments it fell. Inside the old man felt happy. He was great indeed. Haha. This one would indeed peak his interest. No more would he be forced to deal with people like the stupid bafoon next to him, Razhgial. Soon he would be one in power. And this mage was the key. The key to his power. He would bind his time. Oh yes. This one would. Prove....Useful!

"Send another wave. Three Tuskers and a Diamond Golem. I want him...." He paused for a moment to think. "...Stretched -- to his limit"

And at that command the young one raised it's arm above his shoulder..and his forces attacked....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was still on the ground panting when the first one struck. The tusker had hit me palm first in the back. Instantly I was crushed flat to the floor. For the next few moment he beat me repeatedly. I could hear bone after bone crack and I was in terrible amounts of pain. When I thought the final blow was about to come the women had healed me. With that I took my chance and jumped to my feat. Immediately a bolt of fire rose from my orb and the Tusker was blasted hard. Another and it fell to the ground. With only a Shreth and one Tusker remaining this fight became more managable. I had concentrated on the Tusk, while she moved in to attack the shreth.

"Malar Ealoi!". The words spoken a halo of energy had swirled around the Shreths head
"Justpri Hustani"
. Now an envelopment of wave had surrounded the beast, the beast had vulned him.
Indeed this women was of the Og disciple. She must be powerful indeed. After she was finished I proceeded to unleash my fury. Bolt after bolt I fired Cold spells into it's hide. Only one in a few seemed to actually take effect. And with the Tusk still hammering me and the Shreth shoving his claws into my face I knew I wouldn't have survived without her help. After a few moments I decided to switch to the Tusker to get him out of the battlefield. The women weakened while I fired. Bolt after bolt, finally he had fallen. We turned to finish the Shreth when Derricki finally came rushing forward and dashed towards us. Before I had a chance to even fire he had jumped in the air to come down and strike the critter on the top of the head. He immediately fell to the ground and slumped to his own death.

I let another sigh of relief. We had won the day once more.

"That was a close one", Derricki had said.

"Tell me about it, are you alright young women?".
For a moment she did not respond. She still seemed to be dazed from the fight. I didn't want to disturb her so we waited for a few moments before she replied.
"Yes, I am fine. I am just a little, tired. I have been fighting these things for days now and I am so tired. I thank you so much for the help. I knew he would have killed me without those guys."[/i]
"What is your name ma'am?"

"Oh sorry, I forgot to say...my name is Maryana. But people call me True Love."

"True Love?" , Derricki had asked.

"It's a nickname. I never hurt people on purpose unless I have to. I always try to show compassion, and for that people think I have...true love for things."

Odd. It sounded right. She hadn't done anything I would find to be mean or cruel. She had never officially hurt anyone, I had always been the person to fire the finishing blow. She didn't seem to actually WANT to hurt them at all. But before I had a chance to ponder further I started to feel....weak. A halo of energy had surrounded my body and I lost some strength. From afar I could see a mass of silver and pink and a rainbow of colors move. It seemed to be very large and move quite fast. Before I had known it, it shifted it's form and reached forth with a part of it's body. My magical energies also seemed to weaken. This must have been what they called a Diamond Golem. And he was headed this way...

"He got me with Weakness and War ineptitudes. I can't do a thing." . Already burdened down from my journeys I felt even weaker. The pack was just too heavy to hold, I couldn't move faster then a crawling walk. The golem started to get closer and closer. I knew I was in for a good sense of danger....

I could only see one thing in my options book and I did just that. I dropped my pack of components and ran for the lifestone. If I had hurried I would be able to reach it in time. If it was still working, and I had died, I would just respawn and still live. I ran as fast as I could. With my pack dropped I no longer had any worries about my strength, I could hold just my armor and run. I bolted and jumped and flew blazingly fast. Maryana and Derricki were behind trying to distract the golem when two Tuskers made a charging run for them. They too ran in retreat. I could see them get closer to me, with the Golem and Tuskers right in pursuit. Halfway there...I could do this. I knew that I could do this. Almost there....just keep on running Savior. The golem was getting close to me now..within arms reach. He lunged forward and barely missed my head. Angered the Diamond reached forth with one arm, then another. I had been weakened by the spells Imperial and Bludgeoning Vulnerability. One hit would kill me instantly. But I had to keep running I was so close. So close. I could feel it. I was not going to die here. Not now. There it was now. I could see it. It was so close. Come on I could do this. And ten feet before the lifestone I could see the Golem run towards me again. He was close enough to strike. This was my last chance....

I leaped forward to touch the lifestone. I was within hands reach. I....can....touch...it. And before I had the chance to know what happened my world went black......

Saviors Hand is back. And with a punch!

Before I start I decided that it would be a good idea to take a screenshot in my new (at the time) hunting armor. What is it you guess?

Bmj51.jpg

That's right I got my Mage Armor!

Mage Armor!

The quest started out pretty ok. I was desperate and wanted my WMA bad. I felt that at the time I had such low skills to hunt at the place where I was hunting, and I knew it would be a great thing to be able to boost my skills, 10 points, and get some free buffs. So I asked my local Allegiance mate, Aldieb, if he could help me out. Earlier I had acquired some WMA for 4 sings at the Hub/Sub/Dumb, spammed trading center (Seem's like a lot of money icon_rolleyes.gif , I got a Diamond Shield from an A-mate named Ag Nar, gave me a good 15 sings). I had traded for this before I lost my internet and was dying to rekindle it for myself. He told me however that we would need a person for lever pulling and we would need at least 3 people, unless we wanted it to be done the long way -- then it would be possible for just two people to accomplish the quest. I told him I might be able to get someone as I pulled up my phone and gave Xhero a call. He said he would be more then happy to help (yeah right...he was in the middle of eating and didn't want to play at the time, but I convinced him icon_biggrin.gif). Just when we were about to leave one of Aldieb's buddies, a level 80 something archer (..sorry I don't remember your name it's been so long icon_sad.gif ) offered to help us and I was only too glad to accept. We ran and did the usual run I won't go into, and arrived. Aldieb buffed me up with VII's and said "Only shoot if you absolutely have to...I will do the work till the end.". I was only too happy to accept because I knew this would be a hard quest. After the usual running we encountered all types of things, Obsidians all the way up to Magma golems. It was actually quite fun because I got in a chance to get some really fun kills in. When we got to the end I was so happy, that for a second I thought I forgot my Mage Armor on my dagger toon. Everyone immediately yelled and started screaming, until I told them it was in fact in my pack I was just too excited to see it icon_wink.gif. We all had decided, obviously, that I would need to convert the top half first for it's 5, then 10, to war. First attempt failed as with the next to. I asked for a Brilliance on me and X provided it, as long as I would give him mana charges later icon_smile.gif, and I got the top kindled. I then proceeded to the girth. After that was kindled my Brilliance fell and I asked for another, ready to kindle my Leggings when lucky - thank god - Aldieb reminded me that I needed to kindle it TWICE for Exarch. I decided that MIGHT be a good idea and kindled everything. After that it was all ok and I paid back X. I was so happy. The war has helped many, many levels icon_biggrin.gif.

Normal Hunting/First Augmented Drudge Kill/Newbie Help

So I started up the buff cycle again and proceeded to head out. I knew I was out of my routine and didn't expect to survive long, but surprisingly I didn't die once this whole level. It all seemed to go smoothly and with that extra +10 war things were falling fast. What was really great is that I was hunting Banderling Maulers/Manglers most of the time and that was great, because they would always hit with Fire/Cold. So the WMA's factor against Slash/Bludge/Pierce was never taken into account. I leveled off of these for a while till I got the big 36...

Here is a pic of me killing my first Augmented Drudge. Surprisingly he didn't take much time, only around 2 minutes....

images/Bmj53.jpg

After all of this good stuff, the hunting, and the Mage Armor quest, I had decided to take a break. After this amount of time it had been a day or two and wanted to chill for a few days. So for once I actually decided to study in school. There I have a friend name Daniel. For the past week or so I had been trying to convince him to join the AC experience. He had played Everquest for at least 3 years and was wanting to play something else. After the end of that week he had come to join me and I felt that it would be great to level him up and get him running. So for the first few levels I made a new UA character. I felt that I wanted to be there right in the middle of battle to see all of his progress and give him pointers mid battle. So I rolled a character I called Companion. She wasn't anywhere near the new "top of the line" melee templates. I had decided that I would make a character I felt would be fun and not so uber all the time. We started outside Shoushi and proceeded to just run around doing the typical newbie rush, then kill, then run technique. With my GSC, acquired from a while ago...too heavy for SH though, I wasn't taking too much damage that it started to cause a problem..

A pic of us fighting and me leveling...

Bmj54.jpg

Observer Kills/Level 37

I helped him for a few levels and after some talking he logged. I decided I would give SH some leveling for a few hours. Along the trail of killing I encountered a VO, Virindi Observer. Now I had just died before from an unfortunate death by a Tusker and was hoping to get rid of some frustration. I felt this guy would be the perfect challenge icon_biggrin.gif. After about..say.....20(!) resists I finally got a Blade Vulnerability V on him. Another 5 resists later and he was dead, with my friend behind me for support obviously. Here is a pic from his death, and every other damned VO I have killed since

While the WMA is great. You can't find a good supply of Banders forever and so I concluded that I would start using my GSA exclusively again. By now the new colors were out and I could dye it any color I want. I let Xhero borrow a suit, and after he dyed it Blue I knew that I had to have....red icon_smile.gif. I went back out to the lifestone and it was incredible. While my skills were lowered somewhat it became that much easier to survive blows. A massive wave of Tiatus Lugian's became viable now, not easy..but viable, and those guys can rake in exp when you have a lot. That and Nobles, one of my candys. For quite a while that is all I did, hunt Nobles, Banderlings, and Tiatuses/Extas. And then another level came...

Bmj510.jpg

First kill of Ascendant Drudge/Level 38

After I reached level 37 I ran back to the lifestone and buffed up again. I did the usual run and wen't up the hill till I encountered a lone, single Drudge. I to tell you the truth was asking for death. It was a death wish and nothing but. I never thought I could take one. For the longest time I believed these guys were so hard to kill that it took quite a while to kill them. I was so wrong as this picture will show...

Bmj511.jpg
He died quicker then my first Observer icon_smile.gif.

Another day of hunting, and boredom. I will admit at this time the fact of power-leveling started to wear on me. I was getting more and more powerful each day, but the boredom was starting to get unbearable. I found myself just sitting an extra minute or two longer doing certain things then I had to because I didn't want to get back to leveling. However I drudged (forgive the pun) on for another day or so and got this level...it must have been my most boring....

Bmj512.jpg

Stats/First kill of Nightmare Wisp

HeHe. After all of this junk you must be wondering what my stats could have been like by now. Well here are them self buffed with no Exarch on then Exarch on. I started to prove after this point from examination, I don't think you can tell from these pictures, that there is their own sort of....spell economy calculated when you put on armor with a spell compared to casting it yourself. I have found that normally if you stick on an item it lowers the skill compared to if you leave it off. Many a times when my mana conversion was 235 buffed, it would often drop it to 229 when I put on my Exarch. 6 points may not seem like a lot..but it was to me...anyways, here are those 4 pictures...

Bmj515.jpg
Bmj516.jpg

Eww now this one also made me feel special..but first...

Now it may seem like I have a lot of different sections describing a lot of different situations I had but I kinda did this on purpose. On my last journals I would always entwine all of my adventures together like it was all in one day. This obviously made them a little...less then worthy of what they could have been. In my opinion that is. I look back at some of them now and realize just how...bad ( ) I did them. Hopefully this splitting of things will help to understand all of the different things I have done, like a real journal. And since this one is especially long it doesn't help to have a caption to each topic icon_wink.gif. Not to mention I like to catalog when I whoop someone's behind in battle icon_biggrin.gif.

(Werid Virindi Keys dropping on the wrong Virindi/Level VII debuff cast!)

I don't know if anyone else experiences these sorts of things. But twice now, and once for the other, I have gotten strange keys of a Virindi Master. Obviously a Master drops master keys right? I have never seen a master drop a master key, twice now he has dropped a Director key. And even once a Singularity Key! Really weird. Check it out...

After some major fizzling and a resist I finally got off a Lightning Level VII Debuff off on a Tiatus. Talk about cool. This was about 3 days from my last pictures of the kill of the Nightmare...

Level 39/Level 40

Level 38 didn't seem too bad. I was going on at a good pace and I was exploring some new greatness in my abilities. Higher level debuffs and the like. Before I could only use level V debuffs sparingly, now I was casting them regularly and only fizzleing on about every...30-40 casts or so. My skills were high enough for level VI Creature/Life/War buffs all the time. I was really excited about all of this because now my skills could always be their highest with Creature to it's highest. My war's were enough to get resisted even less. And my life was enough for some sweet 'Just in time' drains. Everything was going along well and before I knew it I was already level 39 just from hunting out of fun. I leveled so unexpectedly that I got the screenshot after I had already passed up what level I was...so I have both mid battle versions and after battle...

Bmj522.jpg

Level 40 came almost as quickly. I was having even more fun. Resists were next to non existent against Extas and Tiatuses weren't causing too many problems. Bandies were still a problem sometimes but they were plenty manageable. Everything was going good. Death's were low..then I got hit with what I called...the bad luck. I was getting resisted right and left. Killed right and left(I averaged 3-5 deaths a day) and everything was going just horrible. I didn't want to play. I even remember a battle where I was fighting 1 Banderling Mangler. I wasn't resisted up to this point at all. Then at a certain point, I just started getting 'owned'. I resisted 5 times in a row. He eventually killed me. After I returned, the spawn point had now 5 Bandies. 4 Maulers and that damned Mangler. Now since Maulers and Manglers cast spells that help their buddies hit harder, Manglers cast Fire Vulnerability even though they do cold damage...because Maulers do fire damage icon_rolleyes.gif -- opposite for Maulers by the way. I was killed 4 more times before I got my bodies back. That was not a great day. However after many different battles I had reached level 40....

Leveling Xeman[Xhero's toon]/Crystal Golem Kill/Level 41

Before the patch was this month my friend started up a Sword toon with an "extreme template". I could describe the template if someone asked or emailed but for now I just want to keep it a secret because right now he owns with it and I don't want to give it away icon_wink.gif. Well anyways we portaled out to the Nexus, thanks to a boost from my dagger toon Derricki, and I started up. We pulled after pulled untill he gained level after level. Then out of the blue, a.k.a. a spawn just as we killed it's previous inhabitants, a Crystal Golem appeared. I voted we run for it, due my previous luck streak -- which now seemed to have gone away (side note. I never had that kind of problem again icon_smile.gif ), he voted we stay. After 5 seconds of debate we both decided to stay. Now with my creature only at 270 at the time this was definitely going to be a tough battle. I found just Yielding him was a test in patience. After it was finally off even landing spells after that was difficult. But finally I achieved to hit him with Yield V, Weakness V, Clumsiness V, Slowness V, and Imperal VI. He felt after a minute or two. He didn't have any good on him but it was nice to get that good kill. A few minutes afterward he logged and that was it for Xeman leveling...

Bmj524.jpg

I iimmedately got back to leveling. After that battle I felt level 40 within my grasp. It was going to be a big trademark. Because once I knew I got to 40, 50 was just a 2 weeks journey. I was so happy at this thought. I pushed and pushed. I swear I killed a million things that day. Then...boom. Death. I was so close. I was so stressed. I didn't want to get out there and continue that damn process of buffing and crap. So what did I do. I waited a few seconds to calm down and Xhero suddenly logs on. He decides he will do me a favor (which I ALWAYS seem to pay back icon_biggrin.gif) and buff up to kill off my vitae. Here is a picture of me leveling under his 'care'...

Shendolin Quest

After some serious, and I mean serious, leveling we(Xhero and I) both decided to it was time to do something else. Due to it's difficulty and length we both decided the Shen quest would be quite fun. For a while I just leveled while he looked for people in the hub to go on the quest. After about an hour we had what seemed to be a good group and I came. Someone already had the tie to the dungeon, cause we weren't running this quest...we just ended up joining another group, and we walked right in. This place was pretty cool...until I had to turn down my computer settings to 1/8. I have a picture of that..and let me tell you it looked ugly. The first dungeon wasn't hard. It was just normal Diamond Golems and the like. Rev's aren't harder either icon_wink.gif. We got to the end, and turned our keys into Gems. The second part of this quest was really the fun part. At the beginning there was nothing but Dual Fragments. Dual Frag, after Dual Frag. It was quite a nice thing. I hunted those things for a few seconds and I was really anticipating going back. We ran around a few more rooms and then arrived in the main area. It was such a cool place. Fragments after Fragments. The blue alcove really accidental the whole place. And with the big Shendolin Frag in the middle it seemed like it would be a big battle. I helped in the first, second, third and fourth battles. I did well I guess. I definitely put on my Exarch Coat to get that extra war and it legitimately helped. However on that 5th battle I was surprised. The people around me didn't seem to be able to hit the Shen Crystal, however I seemed to hit quite a bit. In the end I got the finishing blow and I checked it's corpse. I KILLED IT! Talk about great. I have a picture of that too. Since that point most people seemed to have their own gems and a few people stayed behind to help the remanding. One of them, who had been quite nice and helpful throughout the whole quest -- He kinda went out of his way to help people, asked if he could take the Shen Crystal alone. Everyone told him yes and he tried his best. Unfortunately he could not take it alone. He requested someone to finish it off. He just wasn't strong enough I guess icon_sad.gif. After all of this, I casted Item Enchantment Self VI on myself, then put on my Exarch..and stood there for 5 minutes till I finally lifestone recalled. With it I got a Shendolin Shield, that I had put on a dagger toon. Here are a few pictures of this event...

Level 42/Archer with Mage armor?

The next day I had decided to go ahead and level some more. It was slow, seeing as it costs more and more to level. However I continued the whole day long. It got boring of course but I kept going, ...until I died. Again Xhero had to come save the day. He got on and burned my vp to the point of me leveling. What is the funny part is that I leveled just as my vitae left. Here is a picture of it...

Afterwards he asked to borrow my mage armor to see what it would look like with it on him. It looks...interesting. Here's a pic.

Quiddity Quest

After I leveled again, it was again quest time. I was so bored of leveling icon_wink.gif. This quest was surprisingly...well. Boring. It is either hard as heck or easy as pie, and the environments for ALL of the dungeons is the same, or similar, to the Simulacrum Dungeons. I found it to be rather easy, because we had such a big group. The only time I had a problem was in the first dungeon, and that was just a close call in the first dungeon. The one cool part about it was the fact that my party made a few funny moments, which were all AFTER the quest. Hehe. The person above I mentioned called Ag Nar is a story writer. He wrote about our quest in detail, about how gimped defeated hollows and many minions to get their ingots. The funny part is that he FORGOT my name. Hehe. And I was one of the only three mages. And even more then that, I was THE PERSON controlling the Fellowship. As in I recruited people and booted them and such. So after this someone emails the guy saying he forgot my name. So he add's it. But as a MELEE. Hehe. Ag can be funny sometimes. (looks around at the crowd). Sorry..got a little offhand there icon_redface.gif. Well after the quest Ag messaged to all the alligence of our victory and we all went to go get our ingots. I have a few pics of that...

Someone stealing my gear?/My benevolent Patron/Hollow Suit in the making/Level 43/Dark Myrmidon

When I got back the next day, I had studied what weapon to get the night before and logged..I didn't log back in till the next day, when I had logged back on I saw a person with the SAME exact setup as mine. I had to check under Derricki's GSA to see if he STILL had his. icon_lol.gif

Also while I am at it I want to post a picture of my patron. He has always helped me throughout my entire career as a battlemage. This is a picture of a conversation I was having with him...

And as stated above I am trying to make a hollow suit. The top piece isn't TOO bad. al 222 Hauberk, but the leggings are al 174 icon_sad.gif. I am working on it though icon_question.gif My only criteria is that I find it on my own and don't trade for it.

Well all the above junk aside I decided to go back to level. This time however I tried my first real attempt at a fellowship leveling. I met a person named Netstorm, he was trying to buff, after a death, at the lifestone. I offered to hunt with him and he told me no that he didn't want to give me free exp. I laughed and described the way fellowships worked and we fellowed a few minutes later. That night I made level 43. Here is the pic.

After making level 43 I was obviously pooped (as I am sure you are of reading this icon_smile.gif ). I waited till the next day to head out again. When I did almost immediately I found a bunch of Relic Bones. Now to be honest I was surprised. I had hunted here for 10 levels by then and I had never seen one. Well it was guarding the great Dark Myrmidon, the guy who drops the bone mace. I dropped him easily and here are some pics of his corpse and my kill, along with the mace...

Level VII spells/Level 44

While before I had already had many level VII spells, it was never cost effective. Normal comps are cheap and alright. But jeez. Those Platinum Scarbs are so darn expensive. And for the longest I couldn't afford them. While now I can make a sing a day if I really want to. So level VII spells WERE (Find out what my main goal is soon, you won't believe what it is...) my main goal. I have all of the life protections except for Acid and Bludgeoning. I have a few Creature spells and all of my level VII wars. Those are really going great. I expect to have them all soon in life and after a while I wil actively trade for Creature VII's when my skills get high enough.

A good point to mention is that while I was on my way back I succeeded to level again. This time off of a Great Skeleton, which I never have before..

Stupid, yet cool pic/Level 45/Almost done I swear

Well in the past few days I have been very bored of AC. I seen my goal but it has just seemed too far. I know that at the time level 44 is decently close I certainly didn't want to wait out those 6 levels. So for a while I did some stupid stuff to kill my time and have fun. For a while my friend came over one day and to kill sometime he logged onto his old character in another world he didn't play anymore (By the way, the friend is Xhero icon_smile.gif.). What he had planned on doing was dropping everything of value at random, then kill himself repeatedly. He succeded in dropping his stuff. In fact right in front of THE Elder himself. The big cahoona from Morningthaw. After that he killed himself and went back to his lifestone in Ayan Baqur. Where he proceeded to kill himself in stupid fashions. Like a person was firing war spells at him. He would run and jump up. Then juse the @lifestone command just in time to kill himself as the bolt hit. Talk about funny. After he had his max vitae, 40%, he went out to fight some monsters. He stood toe to toe with an Executor on a UA character, that had 40% vitae, and -100 to his UA skill.............for about 5 seconds. After that he ran up to 3 Diamond Golems. And here is the funny part. with only 170 something UA and no armor or spells on his weapon, he actually hit the Diamond...TWICE! Here is the picture..

Well like I said I have been bored of AC lately. Well yesterday, as of this writing..Saturday April 06, 2002, I got an email back from one I had sent out to the entire allegiance emailing list. What I was talking about was how I got a message in the Dev chat, and was making fun of the fact that I bug everyone..even the dev's. My question was, as oghorhai, "Will Residential Quarters require Asheron's Call: Dark Majesty. His response, Ken Karl's, was yes. Well I got an email from a person, who I know a little bit about..but only in the online world, Rob Swider. He asked me.."You don't have DM?". I told him that I had not, because my current credit card provider would not allow it. And the guy sent me back an email. He went out and actually BOUGHT a copy of DM for me! What a nice guy. He sent me all the information I need to get it turned on, except for the CD itself. Which is okay because "Xhero" has a copy at his place I can borrow if I need to reinstall, I have Normal AC but I doubt I would have the files necessary for DM with that. I want to thank that guy so much. If you ever meet or talk to a guy called Wyyk, or Wyk on Thisledown tell him "SH owes him.". Well with this new thing in hand I found a new credit card provider, through some luck, and wondered what it would be like to graduate sooner. Well what I finally realized is that I can graduate at level 45, and I was 44..only 1 million or less to my next level! I rushed that entire night and got the most experience I had ever gotten in one run, around 500K. My typical run averages around 200k or so. So I REALLY speed demoned this. Here is my picture of leveling after I had died...

Well that was last night. Now I am just waiting till I can get my credit card provider online. Hopefully I can play DM before the end of the weekend.....

But something still bothers me. I feel that I am completing too early. Like I should have waited out till 50 or something. I will still get Item at 45, if I find Hun Ralirea, but I won't consider myself a TRUE Battlemage untill level 50. So untill then I haven't REALLY graduated in my mind. And don't worry these dumb journals will go on after 50, if life permits it.

Here is a pic of my current stats all self buffed to the max. This should give an idea on my current situation.

Well surprisingly that is ALL. This was such a short column this time (MY ASS! icon_mad.gif), sorry about that. If you have any questions or complaints, like length or something, just email me at worf228@hotmail.com.
