Part III - Eastham Beach Party (LvL 5-10)
There is nothing better than the beach at Eastham to
level quick in Dereth at lower levels, critters with good
XPs like the blue wasp, lateron golems and the Azure Gromnie. To the north lays the portal to Arwic and the
golem grounds, to the south the jungle beach near the
Tumerok town and even far further south, Hebian-To.
When you get to town you LS at the windmill, buff youself
and go directly down to the beach, there you will find
one Azure Gromnie and you can try your luck, I killed it
at LvL 5 but I got lucky, normally they resist LvL II
spells like crazy and send you to the LS. Down at the
beach directly in front of the windmill you find three
gromnie spawns which I call the "n00b triangle".
Here, n00bs level and die fast. One gromnie at the mill,
one at the waterline and two more towards the meeting
hall, you can stay here and level up several levels if
you want to. Whatever you do, do not go south!
To the north is a cabin, when I was there some grief
player had selected it as his domicile and was upset
other players actually went in there to buff or log. Just
imagine what happened when I vulned this water golem but
could not get the kill and it followed me inside HIS
home, hehehe. I dispatched it from the upper level but I
had found a friend for live, harassing me whenever he
could. Squelching takes care of things like that.
Beach Party Hunting Game:
1. Blue Wasps (120 XPs per pop)
They do not resist, easy kill with one vuln and two force
bolts, they cast war II but you can dodge, right?
2. Azure Gromnies (150 XPs per pop)
Nasties with piercing and acid damage, resist up to war
III with ease, never a sure kill, keeps the game
exciting, drives you insane, gives you free trips to the
LS. Impossibel to avoid them, you may as well get the XPs
if you gonna die.
3. Shallow Shark & Shallow Lurker (200 XPs per pop)
They like to sit underwater, much less resistant than
gromnies but much more lethal if they get close. You may
survive a gromnie but not one of these. Take care of them
with vuln + 2-3 force bolts.
4. Mud Golem (200 XPs) & Water Golem (800 XPs per pop)
Good for low level XPs, they both cast War II and III,
use piercing for Mud and electricity or fire for the
water guy. Good XPs and low risk as SLOW!!!!
5. Shadow Child
They suck, they cast, they hit and they kill fast, they
stick on your butt forever. They still resist my LvL IV
war spells sometime, if you see em, avoid em. If they
come towards you
.well I hope your run is high
enough. Otherwise, the rotating grey tunnel brings you
back to the windmill FAST!
Stay here and level up to level 10 with ease, should be
able to do it within a few hours, the problem is that the
beach is crowded at times, I used to hunt there in the
early AM CST and had the beach to myself. I liked ot run
up towards the portal bunker and kill everything in
sight, then sell my heavy stuff there and run back to
Eastham. Works pretty well. Alternatives are beaches
around other towns like the Yaraq beach or the beach
south of the Hebian-To meeting hall. All have flat ground
and good game to get XPs and nice loot (for htose levels, lol). BTW in the midst of all that I got six skill
credits at LvL7 and raised Mana C. Did not notice much
difference at first but the big jump comes between 130-150
Mana C that is when it really kicks in.
Now with my melee I stayed in Eastham until LvL 20, that
is getting painful after LvL 12, so this time I decided
to go for some Grey Giant Smurfs, named Lugians. They are
big suckers, hard hitting and rock-throwing. So I decided
to get a taste of them in an area around Baishi - City of
Ultimate Lag. Around the Baishi LS several Laigos and
Amploth spawns exist, also three wood golems and some
Lugies near the tower fortress close to Baishi.
I left Eastham, glad to kiss those annoying gromnies good-bye
and worried about the tough future ahead, the run was
uneventful, I got to Rithwic, took the Soushi portal and
ran the road west to Baishi.
To be continued
Battle on friends, may Asheron look favorably upon your
path.
