Part V - Lugie Fun

Hebian-To is a strange and fun palce to be. When I get there I am always remided of Anchorhead, the port on Tatooine, from where Obi Wan and Luke started their journey, in a galaxy far away…..! If they ever decide to add a red light district now as we have casinos in Dereth, Heb is the place of choice.

Not a starter town, it takes some efforts to get here, you run from Soushi, Nanto or Tao-Tao or you take the portal fom Qualabar, it is right next to the Qual LS. The proximity to the Qual portal and the role of Qualabar as a major trading center with frequent free rides to the Subway makes Hebian-To THE place to be IMHO. All sorts of characters hang out here, I guess no other town has so many thieves. Adventurers come and go all the time, the shops offer all the nice armor types available, low-levels hunt the beaches or go forth to the mosswart fort to try their luck. Higher levels portal in to sell stuff they looted and hang out and meet peeps before they continue their adventures. Even these days I am still LSed in Qualabar and live in Hebian-To, cannot beat that place.

I was sitting in the local pub, minding my own business and drinking this Sho beer that always reminds me of green tea mixed with alcohol. Anyway I overhear two peeps talking about Lugians around Qualabar at some Outpost where Mages fill the basement and lay waste to the Grey Giant Smurfs. Being in town for three days and still at level 15 I decided to get some hunting done and finally I learned the spell I now consider the most powerful of all:

DRAIN HEALTH I

What it took him to LvL15 to learn this spell…..YES…keep your comments to yourself, OK!!!

Off I was to join the draining fun in the basement. I took the portal to Qual and found the LS without problem, went across the hill and faced the North Qualabar Outpost……and some messages:

- Lithos Lugian beats XX into liveless pulp
- Lithos Lugian sends YY into next MT
- Lithos Lugian beats ZZ so hard that his ancestors feel it

As the whole mage chamber was just wiped out in seconds by some Lithos Lugian, I changed my draining plans. I went to the south Lugian outpost and spent one level there. Inside you find two Laigos, two Amploth and one Lithos Lugian, enough XPs to level from 15-16 without too much trouble. Then I got bored and returned to the northern outpost. On a hill behind the post two pairs of Lithos spawn, 2000 XPs each, they are always in pairs and they hit hard! I got my ass handed to me frequently. They resist the LvL III spells frequently, I had lots of problems and could not get a steady XP flow in so I had to find the solution elsewhere….

My wife got into online gaming with AC, when I rolled the BM she turned her gimped Bladeswigeress into an advanced mule and rerolled as a kick-ass UA with a modified Fist of Yuma template, UA/meleeD/Lore speced and Life and Healing trained. We were the same level and did an XP sharing fellowship, 50/50. That took care of all my troubles, we averaged 50.000 XPs each per hour there and made it to LvL 18 in no time, then off to the Forking Trail north of Qual, I stayed there for one whole level and hunted outside the dungeon, in fellowship with my wife also inside lateron. Remember when you enter you face one Dillo and three Lugians that pound your butt senseless. So you wanna wait to get in until some high-level-kick-ass-super-duper-foul-language-using-uber-melee-kid has cleared the way and believe me, there are plenty. They drag critters on you, they swear, curse you out, just like the good old below-high-school-level fun. I think I had my worst time so far with the "teeny-brigade" out there at the Trail.

One guy got me killed and I sent him a "Thank-you" message and got the standard: "STFU you big ass". This time I kinda minded that and reported him for verbal abuse to the admin. Never heard anything from them besides the initial response but also never saw the offender again. I guess this was pretty useless, I suggest squelching.

The forking trail brought me up to LvL 20, since LvL 19 I had stopped using up XPs and I now got Item - the first step is accomplished. One more to go to LvL 50. I will post my LvL 20 stats in the next journal. I got my item base immediately to a 145 base and learned all the portal spells. I felt ready for the dungeons of ultimate mid-level XP and …..death - THE CITADELS.

To be continued………….

Battle on friends. May Lord Asheron look favorable upon your paths.
