Part IX - GCD and OP BSD (LvL 37-40)

It was patchday in May 2001 and I had made it finally to LvL 37 in and around the DM, Toadkiller posted an info about the Gredaline Consulate Dungeon on Dizz page so I decided to check it out. After a quick Syyn-induced detour to Samsur (LOL) I figured GCD was located close to Qualabar and I started the run there. On the way I came across a Lugian Training Camp with around 30(!!!) Amploth, Obeloth, Lithos, should work well for BMs LvL 15-25, check it out I posted the coords on Dizz page. Anyway, the run there was uneventful, the usual Dereth roadside trash, this run should be doable for every BM that can enter this dungeon (LvL 25+ restriction). I tied to the portal and in I went.

When you enter the dungeon you end up on a platform where you can buff in relative safety, I actually lateron dragged some lurkers from the adjacent tunnels there to have stuff around to drain stamina for the STMs, works well. They always remain below the platform and cannot touch you. I cannot tell you a lot about the north, west and east parts of the dungeon as I never went for the scrolls and did not like dealing with those dollies there. The south corridor was my home!

When you enter the south tunnel after a few yards you run up a ramp and come up to two Stalkers, kill em, then run down a ramp and you see a room in the distance!! Stop there at the bottom of that ramp…..do not worry they will come…… In that room in front of you ten Stalkers spawn in about 5min spawns, 3500 XPs a pice, 35.000 per spawn, 60-70.000 per buff cycle, not too shabby. And if you stay at that ramp they will come to you, one or two, sometimes three BUT never all ten together, cool eh!?! So I stayed at the bottom of that ramp for a while and made it there to LvL 38, lotsa Stalkers to kill, believe me. Monotnous at times but always something to do due to the constant stream of victims.

At that time I met Syyn there and then decided to venture further down into the Stalker room, up the stairway and into the Virindi room with the portal to the next level - Ravener Hell. I actually tied to this portal and always went directly to the Ravener part, there is an exit portal there that brings you back to the entrance platform for buffing, vitae burning etc. Now the Ravener Hell is special, when you venture in deeper you hit Tuskers and also Hollow Minions and Virindi but I never went that deep. The problem is the buffing as I buff for piercing and blade for drudges. I also throw in a Light Prot V for the Raveners, I recommend this highly as 60-70% of their casts is Light Bolt IV, the rest whirling blade and rarely an acid bolt. So with these buffs you cover 90% of Ravener attacks. It increased my combat time significantly. Now be careful because the Raveners, other than the Stalkers in the first part, will come all to help their buddies that you intend to kill, I ended up with 5-6 chaincasting Raveners, even the best prepared BM will have problems with that scenario. When you enter through the portal you come to a buffing room, take the tunnel from there and kill duos of Raveners in two smaller rooms, then you come into a hall with columns and some more Ravs, take a left and the next room has a trio of Ravs that love to chaincast. At that point I was always so worn out health/stamina/mana wise that when I had recovered my buffs started to drop and I had to run back into the buffing area. The few times I made it there intact, I took on the three tusker guards that spawn in the next room. But that happened rarely.

I got to LvL 39 there fast but still it was very boring, to cheer me up I did the Imp Staff quest in Zaikhal and after I got the broken staff from the four towers and the ore from the Colier Mine I went to the Subway to find a Lockpicker for the Mite Maze. Loaded with ore and smelting pot I returned to the Subway just to hang out for a bit. Someone had just opened a portal to……..OP BSD, hey I always wanted to check out that place, so unbuffed I entered the portal………………

Now that is some kind of crazy place. When I entered I immediately ran out of the portal cause some peep just had dragged a couple Tuskers to the entrance. As I should later find out, a rather common occurrence there with melees who think once they can handle Extras and have a shiny crystal shield they can come there to own Tuskers - THINK AGAIN! Anyway the BSD worked out fine for me, I went there on a Saturday and it was camped like crazy, the ideal day if you go there for the first time, hard to find any Tuskers. I returned there early Sunday morning and got about 300-400.000 XPs per hour, got to LvL 40 and decided to call it a day in regards to leveling and exploring the BSD. I finished the Imp Staff quest and started to work in the trade deals for the GSA I had decided I needed now.

To be continued……………..
