Book 5
Follow The Leader
I wish I had more to report here, but levels 22-25 were
rather uneventful. I headed out to the Dires, via the
North Dires portal, and hunted drudges along the coast.
This was my own little slice of Drudge Heaven, and it was
exactly as Drizzarian described.(Score another point for
his web-diary) I never saw another single player along my
route, therefore I dont have any new witty stories
about how I deal with players who F*** with me. I was
making great xp for those levels, but by 25th I felt the
xp taking a bit longer to accumulate, so I decided to try
a few other things as well.
Sleep? Who needs sleep.
At 25th level I scammed a portal to Dungeon of Corpses
from Attilla The Hun, a monarch who shares my clans home
west of Baishi. DoC is definitely way too camped to make
any real xp
.unless
well, I had this idea.
Instead of breaking my back trying to make xp in
primetime hours, I decided Id start waking up about
2-3 hours earlier than normal. I usually need to be at
work by 9 am, so I started setting the alarm clock for 6
am
It was perfect. Id essentially have the
dungeon to myself for 2-3 hours every weekday. This
seriously helped out. Id hit DoC in the mornings
then go back to the coast in the afternoon. 30th level
came rather quickly from there. I found that by 32nd
level I was making about 400-500k an hour in there, but
only on weekday mornings. So, here I sit at 33rd level,
trying to figure out where to go next
.actually I
have my new morning spot picked out, unfortunately
weekends dont empty out as much as weekdays. Id
tell you where I was heading, but then Id have to
share, and its camped enough in prime-time hours,
so youll have to wait til I get a few more
levels under me and post my next diary. Now I just need a
good spot to head during prime-time hours. Drudges just
arent doing it for me anymore.
Armor Vs. Robes
During this latest leveling spree, I was told by
countless people that Id have to switch to a robe
for better protections. I decided to give it a try, but
it winds up a robe just isnt my style. I spent the
whole time, scared S**tless that buffs would wear off any
minute. Finally once I got used to the buff times, I felt
I was safe
bad move, the impen went away a bit
earlier than I had timed it at previously. Nothing sucks
worse than getting 1 hit killed. Nuff said. Im back
in my armor. Even if the buffs wear off, at least I can
take 1 hit, giving me enough time to portal out.
Public Service Announcement
Ok, Ive been lifestoned in Ayan for quite a while
now
this new patch has overloaded AB to monstrous
proportions so Im on my way to a new home. Id
just like to take a moment to spread a word to all of my
fellow mages
Ill be the first to admit that
wall and ring spells look cool, Ok? We all know what they
look like, and we all think they look cool. I remember
once upon a time when we saw people standing around a LS
casting them, we all thought how cool it looked an we
were impressed by your magical abilities. Well, now that
the recipes are easily available in Spiltbeans, and
no research is required, it just doesnt impress
people the way it used to; therefore there is absolutely
no reason to be casting them around the Ayan stone.
Having the ability to cast them doesnt make any of
us UBER, and frivolously casting them in already laggy
areas doesnt make you cool. It makes you an ass. I
mean for Gods sake, WHO THE F*** DO YOU THINK YOU
ARE, DAVID F**KING COPPERFIELD? I got news for ya. Just
cause you know ring spells doesnt mean you can
sleep with Claudia Schiffer
you gotta make the
Statue of Liberty dis-appear if you wanna tag that ass.
For anyone who reads this that makes a habit of this
activity, I just want to say Thanks. Nothing
makes me feel as good as bouncing around Ayan as if I was
attached to the Lifestone by a f**cking rubber band. I
know youre reply to me is going to be that I should
stone elsewhere. Fine by me, Im going. Ive
solved my problem and my lag is gone, however, you, fair
reader, will always have the problem of being an ass.
Thx for taking the time to read
